About Us

A Home Built on Dignity, Compassion, and Trust

Dignified Care & Comfort was founded with a simple belief: seniors deserve more than care — they deserve respect, safety, and a place to call home.

Our Philosophy

Why We Do What We Do

After two decades of serving in the U.S. Navy, our founder witnessed firsthand how the quality of care can transform a person's everyday life. Too many families face the impossible choice between institutional efficiency and genuine compassion.

Dignified Care & Comfort exists to eliminate that choice. We believe every senior deserves a home where clinical excellence meets heartfelt warmth — where staff know your name, your story, and your preferences. Our intimate 8-resident model ensures that no one is ever just a number.

Don-Thomas R. Tindle

Retired U.S. Navy Independent Duty Corpsman · Healthcare Administrator

Don-Thomas is a retired U.S. Navy Independent Duty Corpsman and founder of Dignified Care & Comfort, a veteran-led assisted living home in Suffolk, VA. With over 20 years in Navy Medicine and a degree in Health Science focused on Healthcare Administration for Long-Term Care Assisted Living, Don-Thomas combines clinical expertise with a deep commitment to dignity in elder care.

His military career instilled the values that define our home: discipline in care delivery, precision in health monitoring, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of those in our charge. These aren't just principles — they're the foundation of every decision we make.

Don-Thomas's vision is simple but powerful: create a place where seniors are treated with the same honor and respect they've earned throughout their lives. A place where families have peace of mind knowing their loved one is not just cared for, but truly valued.
